Key Changes in SNGPL Tariffs (July 2025 Update)

In July 2025, SNGPL has increased its gas tariff rates by 8.71%. Now the average prescribed price is Rs. 1,778.35 per MMBTU, which was earlier Rs. 1,635.90 per MMBTU.

This increase has been done as per the recommendations of OGRA, which was necessary to address circular debt and meet revenue requirements. Due to this, SNGPL consumers will see an increase in their sngpl & ssgc gas bill.

Residential Gas Slabs & Rates (July-December 2025)

SNGPL has introduced a tiered gas pricing system for residential consumers. These slabs are as follows:

·         Up to 0.25 HM³: Rs. 200 per MMBTU

·         0.25 to 0.50 HM³: Rs. 250 per MMBTU

·         0.50 to 0.60 HM³: Rs. 300 per MMBTU

·         0.60 to 0.90 HM³: Rs. 350 per MMBTU

These rates are for protected consumers who keep their average gas usage up to 0.90 HM³. If your consumption is more than this limit, you will fall under the non-protected category, which has higher rates according to billing guideline.

Commercial/Industrial SNGPL Rates: New Charges

Changes have been made in the tariff rates for commercial and industrial consumers as well. The gas sale price for general industry (captive) has been set at Rs. 3,500 per MMBTU from Rs. 3,000 per MMBTU earlier.

How to Calculate Your SNGPL Bill Under New Tariffs

You can calculate your estimated bill using your SNGPL bill calculator. For this you need to measure your gas consumption in hundred cubic meters (HM³).

Then, convert that value into MMBTU by multiplying it by 0.0353. After that, multiply the applicable tariff rate by the MMBTU value and add the fixed charges and taxes. This way you can estimate your total bill.
